What is BOTOX®
BOTOX® is a purified protein derivative utilized to abolish frown lines and wrinkles caused by repeated muscular contractions.
What does treatment involve?
You will be able to resume normal daily activities immediately. The full effect of the treatment varies between individuals and is established over 2-14 days.
How long does it last?
There is individual variation but typically lasts three to four months. However the duration of effect increases with each repeated treatments and some individual require only one to two maintenance treatments per year.
How safe is it?
It is a safe and effective physician administered therapy.
What are its side effects?
Despite the minute size of needle use some individuals may experience minimal discomfort during treatment. There is a small possibility of bruising or haematoma formation at the site of injection. Less frequently reported side effects include slight eyelid drooping which generally resolves spontaneously over seven to ten days and occasional headaches.
Post-treatment care
It’s advisable to remain upright and exercise the areas treated 2-4 hours after therapy.
